The Interim Director of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) found no reasonable grounds to believe that a Halifax Regional Police (HRP) officer committed a criminal offence of uttering threats.

On May 21, 2023, HRP contacted the SiRT after receiving a complaint regarding an incident of an off-duty HRP officer allegedly uttering threats to a person known to him. It was found that the complaint was not substantiated by evidence.
