Domestic Assault Allegation Made Against RCMP – New Minas Member
The province's independent Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) has commenced an investigation into an allegation of domestic assault against a male member of the New Minas Detachment of the RCMP.
On November 24th, a call was received by the Kings District RCMP from a third party regarding an allegation of assault against a female by the RCMP member, who was her boyfriend. As a result, the male was arrested, and in accordance with the Police Act, RCMP referred the incident to the Serious Incident Response Team, which assumed responsibility for the investigation.
No charges have been laid at this point. He has been released on conditions by the SIRT to attend provincial court in Kentville on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. The investigation is ongoing.
