The SiRT will generally issue a media release at the commencement of each investigation, unless the case involves sexual assault, intimate partner violence, or the release could impact the investigation, and at the conclusion of each investigation. The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating after a file was referred to them from the RCMP related to an incident that took place during an arrest.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
On June 3, 2024, the RCMP “J” Division contacted the SiRT regarding information that suggested an active RCMP member was engaged in criminal offences. The member was based in New Brunswick but was recently stationed out of province.
